Wow, this is about 5 blogs in one! There are so many thoughts stirring, but more than anything excitement for what this holds for the future. It continues blow me away how I'm able to minister to former students all over the country through facebook or students who have extremely busy schedules through podcasts. I think about past churches I have been involved in who have been scared of these technologies/resources and rather than utilizing these opportunities fought against them. I would say that my ministry has gone from 5% online to 25% online in the past year. How far will/should this go and at what point is it unhealthy?

Sweet! Excellent thoughts. I recently read The New Media Frontier: Blogging and Podcasting for Christ...lame title but profoundly useful in content. Blogs, Podcasts,TokBox, Online Social Sharing, and the creating, giving and taking of user- generated content could easily allow us to remix our methods and practices in our local church communities. A tokbox bible study (proposed by churchcrunch.com I believe)? Online discipleship (never replacing face-to-face discipleship, but certainly supplementing) or teaching. The sharing of stories. The horizon keeps expanding, and the tools God has allowed us to dream up and the creativity He's given us have unlocked so much potential! Word.
